What Covid Means for Wishes

Dear Friends,

In these challenging times, we are all navigating through uncertainty for ourselves, our loved ones and our community. We hope you are staying healthy and safe.

More than ever, we are committed to delivering hope and joy to children with critical illnesses. In light of current medical and public concerns, we wanted to update you on the steps we’re taking to ensure the health and safety of all Make-A-Wish® children and their families, as well as our partners and supporters.

At this time, our Affiliates have made the difficult decision to postpone all wish travel, as well as wish children’s  participation in all activities and events related to wish delivery that involves large gatherings, until further notice.

We have advised all our Affiliates to continue to monitor and follow internal prescriptive  guidance as issued by their local authorities.  Also, we are working closely with the Make-A-Wish America and the Medical Advisory Council, keeping the best interest of the children and families we serve at the center of all policy decisions we make.

Especially during this uncertain time, we are sincerely grateful for our community of supporters.

Your commitment to wish children and families has been phenomenal! This is why we are acknowledging you, our supporters, in our upcoming 40thAnniversary celebrations and World Wish Day Campaign, ‘When Stars Align.’ With this campaign we look to offer hope during uncertain times by shining a light on children waiting for wishes, and the people who help their wishes come true. Please look for our upcoming activities. To find out how you can get involved in our upcoming anniversary celebrations, please speak to your Make-A-Wish point of contact or visit worldwish.org.

We will continue to keep you informed as we learn more about the impact to wish children and their families – and how you can shine a light of hope for them during their wish journey.

On behalf of the children and families we serve, thank you for your support. Together, we can give the brightest of days to children who are fighting critical illnesses.

Sincerely,

Luciano Manzo Signature
