A child’s fight against a critical illness is not only physically exhausting – it is traumatic. A spark of hope can ignite a world of possibilities for a child and their family. This hope can be found in a wish.

As a one-year-old, Ava had to have most of her tumor removed in a six hour operation, followed by intense chemotherapy and radiation. A year later, her doctors gave her the all-clear!

Once she turned 3, Ava became eligible for a wish. Ava then met with Make-A-Wish Australia’s wishgranters at her local park and explained exactly what she wanted her wish to be, “I want a cubby house with two slides, and butterflies, and my favorite colour is rainbow.”
