Creating Magical Wishes Together Since 1980

For over 45 years, Disney and Make-A-Wish have worked together to grant wishes for more than 175,000 children with critical illnesses worldwide. In fact, Disney is proud to be the world’s largest wish granter for Make-A-Wish, granting a wish every hour of every day.

 

We’re Celebrating Disney Week of Wishes

From April 25 through May 1, Disney’s annual campaign celebrates the life-changing power of a wish. All week long, Disney is sharing inspiring stories of wish children whose courage and bravery inspire us all. During the wish capture phase, wish children express their deepest wish through art, and Disney will spotlight these heartfelt creations all week long!

Disney WishMakers across the entire company work with Make-A-Wish to help grant life-changing wishes, including theme park and resort vacations, cruises, shopping sprees, film and TV set visits, talent meet and greets, sports-themed experiences, and more.

A Disney Wish

In the UK, our Disney Wish experience returned for its fifth magical year! Together with Disney, Make-A-Wish invited nearly 200 families to join us for a three-day immersive wish experience. A Disney Wish gives children living with critical illnesses a magical Disney experience where they can create memories that they can treasure forever.

Disneyland Paris celebrates granting it’s 25,000 wish with Lou

40 Make‑A‑Wish children and their families from across EMEA were the first guests to enter the new Adventure World and World of Frozen area at Disneyland Paris.
It was a deeply special moment for Lou, whose wish was granted through Make‑A‑Wish® France, when she took part in the opening ceremony by singing “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” with her favorite singer, Santa. It was a joyful celebration that marked the milestone of 25,000 wishes granted at Disneyland Paris.

Amelia’s wish is to hug Mickey

Amelia (6) was diagnosed with three different medical conditions. Her bedroom has become a shrine to Mickey from a collection of plush toys, figurines, wall clock, bed cover a puzzle in a frame, and more. Amelia loves Mickey Mouse! Thanks to Disney, Make-A-Wish Australia was able to grant Amelia’s wish where she spent an afternoon with Mickey, dancing, coloring, taking pictures with lots and lots of hugs throughout the day.

Wish children discover their inner princess in Latin America

Disney and Make‑A‑Wish created a magical experience for nine girls from Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico facing critical illnesses, inspired by the empowering stories of Disney Princesses. Through creative self‑expression and reflection, the girls explored their strengths, imagined the impact they want to make in the world, and discovered the power within themselves. The experience concluded with a heartfelt moment meeting their favorite princess, leaving the girls and their families with memories they will cherish forever.

Giorgi’s wish to go to Disneyland Paris

Giorgis (12) and his twin brother Stathis both live with muscular atrophy. Their parents worried about the difficulties they could face travelling with two children in wheelchairs, but at Disneyland Paris they were able to live their own fairy-tale. Thanks to Disney, Make-A-Wish Greece was able to grant Giorgis and Stathis’ wishes. The entire family spent three fun-filled days in the park, where they were able to see some of their favourite characters and enjoy the rides. The family made a wonderful banner that they raised in the park, thanking Make-A-Wish Greece for making their wishes come true!

Heison’s wish to meet Lightning McQueen

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort teamed up with Make-A-Wish Hong Kong to grant a wish for 8-year-old Heison. A big fan of Lightning McQueen since he was two, Heison found great inspiration in his favorite character’s speed and resilience, especially during his own battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After bravely completing treatment in 2019, Heison wished to meet the beloved character who was a source of strength during the treatment. To grant his wish, Hong Kong Disneyland invited Heison to meet and roll with Lightning McQueen at the park Processional. During the parade, renowned racecar driver, Jonathan Hui joined to march alongside them. The trio of heroes were cheered on by over 400 guests including wish children and their families, medical staff from Hong Kong and Macau and Disney VoluntEARS.

Chace’s wish to meet Beast from Beauty & the Beast

Eight-year-old Chace from Singapore always hoped that one day, he’d meet his favorite Disney character, Beast. As a big fan of Beauty & the Beast, Chace found inspiration in Beast’s strength and vulnerability, especially during his own battle with neuroblastoma and ganglioneuroblastoma. On his wish day, Chace stepped into the shoes of his favorite character, transforming into Beast with a custom-tailored ensemble made just for him. He also received a one-of-a-kind plush toy inspired by his very own drawing! While he was getting ready, Make-A-Wish Singapore wish granters and Disney VoluntEARS worked together to enhance the wish experience and set up a “Be My Guest”-inspired lunch for his friends and family.
