I wish to have a bagpipe and learn how to play it

I wish to have a bagpipe and learn how to play it

Juan, age 17, Argentina

Seventeen-year-old Juan feels music in his soul. He developed a real passion for bagpipes when he saw a Scottish band on TV, which he watched while undergoing treatments for bone cancer. Juan has always had a passion for music, but never tried to be a musician himself. That is, until he heard the bagpipe! “I will always remember how it felt when I listened to this amazing instrument, my skin tingled and tears came into my eyes,” Juan told wish granters.

The challenging part was to find a real bagpipe and a bagpipe teacher…an instrument not common to his native Argentina. Once a teacher was found, he suggested Make-A-Wish Argentina buy a bagpipe on the internet from a Scottish company.

When the box from Scotland arrived, all were pleased to find that it contained the most beautiful instrument, dark blue and green with gorgeous details. Juan opened his brand new bagpipe, and overwhelmed with joy, began to play. His teacher and his dad were so proud of him, and were especially touched by such a beautiful moment!

The shy young man met his private teacher, Fernando Muzzio, who taught the basics of this complicated instrument for one month. Juan continued to play in the Make-A-Wish Argentina office lobby, in front of the Wish Tree for all staff and passersby, who applauded and cheered him on.
