Wish Children to Attend 2004 Summer Olympics One of these children, Lynda, a 17 year old from the United Kingdom, wants to meet her Olympic swimming hero; while others wish to see their favorite sporting events. All are united in their love of the Games and their determination to have their wish come true. They range in age from 10 to 17, but have been through more than most people will in a lifetime. “These children represent the ultimate struggle to reach the Olympics,” said Victoria Ames, CEO of Make-A-Wish Foundation International. “They are battling their illnesses, and are fighting every day to overcome them. The Olympic Games and these children epitomize the drive of the human spirit to fight against adversity to make dreams come true.”
